The Asian American Sports Club has formally opened its Lahore chapter, unveiling a broad plan to identify and develop talented Pakistani athletes through professional coaching, scholarships and international exposure. AASC Chairman Sid Siddiqui travelled from New York to join President Amir Rasul and Central Park representative Mian Usman in outlining the initiative aimed at grooming youth for global competition.
Leaders said AASC Lahore will expand its footprint across South Asia by affiliating with institutions in China, India, the UAE and Bangladesh to raise standards in sports, education and health. Sid Siddiqui emphasised the aim to find deserving athletes, provide structured training and academic support, and prepare them for international stages with sustainable backing from overseas Pakistanis.
Central Park Lahore was announced as AASC’s first formal affiliate in Pakistan, offering state of the art sporting infrastructure for training camps and future international events. Mian Usman described the venue as moving toward a Sports City under Vision 2030 and pledged full support to sports bodies and talented athletes across disciplines.
AASC Lahore will actively support tennis, cricket, snooker, badminton, arm wrestling, kabaddi, padel tennis and pickleball, combining coaching with scholarship and mentorship programmes. Leadership for the Pakistan chapter includes Usman Anwar and Sania Naeem as key figures, with Musa Haroon, Imran Ahmad Siddiqui, Khalid Siddique and Faisal Khan holding divisional responsibilities.
Arm wrestling lead Faisal Khan said the sport has strong grassroots interest, noting recent events that drew over 4,000 participants. He confirmed that under Vision 2026 the Fakhre Pakistan Open Challenge will take place at Central Park with a preparatory training camp and significant female participation.
AASC Lahore confirmed plans for international tennis and multi-sport events next year alongside long-term camps to groom athletes for global competition. The club also pledged scholarships, academic assistance, mentorship and social support to deserving players, positioning Lahore as a growing hub for youth development and regional sports excellence.
