ABHI Microfinance Bank Limited and education technology firm Knowledge Platform (Private) Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore expanded access to education finance and related services for schools, teachers, parents and students across Pakistan. The partnership creates a framework to design financial solutions tailored to the needs of the education sector.
Planned offerings under the collaboration include education financing options for families, earned wage access facilities for teachers and school staff, and financing support for school owners seeking to upgrade technology infrastructure and operational capacity. These measures are intended to support institutions as they adopt digital tools and modern management systems.
Knowledge Platform will play a leading role in identifying potential partner schools, supporting solution design and facilitating engagement within the education community, while ABHI brings microfinance expertise and delivery channels. The collaboration also envisions awareness initiatives, school outreach and joint marketing to help educators and parents better understand and access available financial solutions.
In the initial phase both organisations will conduct a pilot program with selected school groups in the Islamabad and Rawalpindi region to evaluate product adoption, gather feedback from participating schools and families, and refine service offerings before a potential wider rollout. The pilot is designed to provide locally relevant insights that could shape broader implementation across Pakistan.
The agreement was signed by Mariam Pervaiz, Chief Commercial Officer at ABHI Microfinance Bank, and Mahboob Mahmood, Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Knowledge Platform. The signing ceremony was attended by Kabeer Naqvi, Entrepreneur in Residence at ABHI, along with senior representatives from both organisations.
Both partners say the collaboration aims to strengthen financial inclusion by connecting education finance with learning ecosystems and supporting a more digitally enabled environment for schools, educators and families across Pakistan.
