ADB Pakistan pledges enhanced cooperation on nursing governance, digitalization and training after talks with Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal.

A high-level delegation from the Asian Development Bank met Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal for comprehensive talks on expanding cooperation across the health sector, with ADB Pakistan reaffirming its commitment to deepen the partnership.

The delegation briefed the minister on its priority areas and highlighted support for the JFPR nursing project, announcing targeted assistance to strengthen nursing governance, accelerate digitalization and boost training and workforce capacity.

Representatives from the bank expressed interest in exploring new avenues of collaboration beyond existing initiatives, signalling readiness to provide technical support and development financing to help implement reforms in Pakistan’s health system.

Minister Mustafa Kamal welcomed ADB Pakistan’s commitment, stressing that improved governance, digital tools and enhanced training for nurses are essential to raise service quality across public health facilities. Both sides agreed to continue dialogue to translate these commitments into concrete actions.
