ISLAMABAD, 28 November 2025 — Barrister Danyal Chaudhry, Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, spoke at the Westminster’s Food Festival and warned that Adiala Jail must not be converted into a political party headquarters.
He accused the PTI and the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of pushing an unlawful demand to seek political guidance from a convicted individual held in Adiala Jail, calling the move a clear violation of prison regulations and judicial norms.
Barrister Chaudhry dismissed circulating social media claims about former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s health as fabricated. “This propaganda is being spread in a planned manner from abroad, while according to the Jail Superintendent, Imran Khan is perfectly fine and secure,” he said, urging citizens to rely on verified information.
He underscored that forcing demands through power or pressure has no legitimacy in a democratic society. “The path of law is the only way. Agitation and mob mobilization on the streets will lead the country towards chaos and instability, for which there is no room,” he added.
Chaudhry reminded that jail meetings are permitted only under judicial orders and warned that any attempt to turn Adiala Jail into a political command centre would be illegal and pose a threat to national security and public order.
Speaking about the Westminster’s Food Festival, he praised the event as a reflection of social harmony and cultural traditions. “The Westminster’s Food Festival is not merely a culinary event; it reflects our community’s united spirit and cultural diversity. Such events teach us the lessons of mutual love and brotherhood,” he said, calling on political actors to respect legal processes while communities continue to celebrate unity.
