The National Curriculum Council (NCC), under the direction of the Secretary at the Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training, has finalized and notified the AI curriculum for Grades 1–12 to strengthen technology learning across schools.
The curriculum is structured to develop core competencies in computational thinking, automation and intelligent systems while introducing robotics design in an age-appropriate, progressive manner. It emphasises ethical and responsible use of technology and practical problem solving so learners can apply concepts to real-world challenges.
The framework offers application-oriented learning pathways aligned with national priorities and international best practices. Relevant stakeholders will receive the curriculum documents to support orientation and targeted capacity building that will accompany phased implementation across the country.
Officials say the notified AI curriculum is a strategic step toward preparing students for a rapidly evolving digital and technological landscape, empowering learners with the skills needed for future study and careers in STEM and related fields.
