AI Workshop Concludes at Punjab University’s Hailey College

Consul General Stetson Sanders attended the closing ceremony of an artificial intelligence workshop at Hailey College of Commerce, celebrating a collaborative education initiative funded by a U.S. Public Diplomacy grant. The program brought together students and faculty from multiple Pakistani institutions and aimed to strengthen research capacity, institutional skills, and workforce readiness in AI.

The ceremony took place at Hailey College of Commerce, University of the Punjab, where participants showcased work developed during the workshop. Consul General Sanders joined faculty and students to recognize the effort and to emphasize the importance of international academic collaboration in emerging technologies.

The workshop was funded through a U.S. Public Diplomacy grant awarded to Stillman College. The grant supported collaborative research projects, institutional capacity building, and professional development activities designed to equip participants with practical and theoretical skills in artificial intelligence.

Partner institutions included Stillman College, Hailey College of Commerce, and Lahore College for Women University. Together they delivered an intensive program that combined instruction, hands-on practice, and opportunities for networking and mentorship, intended to expand local expertise and prepare students for technology-driven careers.

Organizers described the initiative as an example of sustained educational partnership and workforce development. By supporting AI training and collaboration between U.S. and Pakistani institutions, the program underscores continued investment in technology education and capacity building in Pakistan.
