Alkhidmat relief teams send tents, food and medicine to flood-hit Sri Lanka coordinating with NDMA and the Government of Pakistan for urgent aid.

Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan convened an emergency meeting in Lahore today to organise an immediate relief response for Sri Lanka after severe flooding claimed over 123 lives, left nearly 130 people missing and displaced more than 44,000 residents across Badulla, Nuwara Eliya and nearby districts.

Under the leadership of Dr Hafeez ur Rehman, Alkhidmat announced an urgent consignment of supplies in coordination with NDMA and the Government of Pakistan. The Alkhidmat relief shipment will include tents, tarpaulins, medicines, clean water, food and blankets to support families who have lost homes and belongings in the floods.

Alkhidmat relief teams will travel to Sri Lanka soon to assess needs on the ground and to work directly with local authorities and relief partners to prioritise the most vulnerable communities. The on-site assessments will guide further support and ensure aid reaches affected households efficiently.

From Lahore, the organisation emphasised its commitment to stand by the people of Sri Lanka at this critical time and to mobilise resources for immediate relief and longer term recovery efforts as needs are identified.
