Ambassador Jemal receives a warm send-off in Islamabad as the Ethiopian community and embassy honour his role in strengthening Ethiopia Pakistan ties.

The Ethiopian community in Pakistan gathered at the chancery in Islamabad to bid a heartfelt farewell to H.E. Dr. Jemal Beker Abdula, Special Envoy and Ambassador Extraordinary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, as he concludes his mission in the country. The departure ceremony reflected appreciation and close ties between Ethiopians living in Pakistan and their diplomatic mission.

The event was organised by the Ethiopian Embassy Islamabad together with the Ethiopian community in Pakistan to recognise the ambassador’s contributions to Ethiopia Pakistan relations. Attendees praised Ambassador Jemal for his diplomatic efforts and for fostering stronger connections between the two nations during his tenure.

Members of the Ethiopian community highlighted Ambassador Jemal’s instrumental role in establishing the Ethiopian Embassy in Islamabad and in facilitating the commencement of Ethiopian Airlines operations in Karachi. These steps were credited with boosting people-to-people links and creating practical avenues for travel and trade between Ethiopia and Pakistan.

Ambassador Jemal expressed deep gratitude to the Ethiopian community for their support throughout his assignment, noting that their backing had been vital to advancing Ethio-Pakistan fraternity. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia acknowledged the farewell as a moment to reflect on the progress made in bilateral cooperation under his stewardship.
