Ambassador Moin ul Haque has assumed charge as Director-General of the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad.

Ambassador Moin ul Haque has assumed charge as Director-General of the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI), taking over from Ambassador Sohail Mahmood upon completion of his term.

Ambassador Haque brings with him extensive experience in diplomacy and high-level decision-making. He served in the Foreign Service of Pakistan for nearly 35 years, holding key assignments at the headquarters as well as in missions abroad.

His last assignment was as Pakistan’s Ambassador to China from 2020 to 2023. Earlier, he served as Ambassador to France from 2016 to 2020 and as Consul General in Vancouver from 2007 to 2010.

During his career, Ambassador Haque also served as Additional Secretary (Administration), Chief of Protocol, Director-General (Europe) and Director in the Foreign Secretary’s Office.

Earlier in his diplomatic career, he served in Pakistan’s embassies in Brussels, Colombo and Ankara. He also served as Counsellor at Pakistan’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York.
