On December 15, 2025, Islamabad Model College for Boys I-8/3 marked its Annual Sports Week with high spirits and a focus on healthy competition, discipline and student well-being. The event aimed to strengthen teamwork and promote physical and mental development through a variety of athletic and recreational activities.
The ceremony’s chief guest was Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah, Executive Director of IBCC (Inter Board Coordination Committee). Other notable attendees included Mr. Fiaz Nadeem, Director Training Islamabad, Sajid Abbasi, Chairman Vegetable Market Islamabad, Madam Nilofar and principals from several model colleges across the city. Their presence underscored the local importance of the Annual Sports Week for Islamabad’s school community.
Formal proceedings opened with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by a Naat and the national anthem, creating a solemn and proud start to the day. Students then presented a disciplined march past in honour of the chief guest, demonstrating training and school spirit.
Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah, accompanied by the Director Model Colleges and Principal IMCB I-8/3 Mr. Shahid Mahmood Abbasi, inaugurated the Annual Sports Week by lighting the ceremonial torch. Junior and senior classes then competed in a range of sporting events and recreational activities, while a release of colourful balloons added to the festive atmosphere.
Principal Shahid Mahmood Abbasi praised the students for their outstanding performances and commended the dedication of the teaching faculty and support staff. He highlighted the vital role of sports in shaping both the physical fitness and mental resilience of students, urging continued encouragement for extracurricular engagement across Islamabad schools.
At the close of the event the chief guest announced a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 for the winning team, a gesture that was warmly received by the students. The ceremony concluded with prayers for the success and prosperity of the school and its students, reinforcing community values and the positive impact of the Annual Sports Week on youth development.
