Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) has announced the introduction of 12 new undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs, aiming to better align its academic offerings with evolving industry requirements and global trends. This expansion underscores the university’s ongoing commitment to equipping students with skills relevant to the modern workforce.
With a current student body exceeding 14,000 across five faculties and seven institutes, PMAS-AAUR has established itself as a leading center of higher learning and applied research in Pakistan. The university also operates sub-campuses in Attock and Khushab, along with a dedicated research farm located on the Mandra-Chakwal Road.
The newly launched programs span a diverse range of disciplines, including BS English Language & Literature, BS Data Analytics, BS Statistics (Data Science), BS Genetics, BS Fintech, Bachelor of Eastern Medicine System (BEMS), Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Information), BSc (Hons) Food Safety & Quality Management, BS Aesthetics & Cosmetology, BS Psychology (Clinical Psychology), BS Fine Arts, and a PhD in Anthropology. These additions are intended to address both local and global talent gaps in high-demand fields.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman highlighted the university’s vision, stating, “Quality education and research in a modern style is our top priority. We are committed to building an environment that promotes academic excellence and industry-relevant skills.”
In line with this mission, PMAS-AAUR has invested in modernizing its facilities, providing state-of-the-art laboratories, advanced computer resources, and a central library with comprehensive digital and print collections. All teaching spaces now adhere to Outcome-Based Education (OBE) standards, facilitating an educational approach that blends theoretical instruction with practical application.
Admissions for all undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including the newly introduced degrees, are now open for the upcoming academic session.
