Aurangzeb Khichi at United Cultures Forum in Russia

Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Aurangzeb Khan Khichi represented Pakistan at the United Cultures Forum in St. Petersburg, Russia, where he highlighted the importance of cultural exchange in promoting peace and mutual respect and presented Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage to an international gathering of ministers aiming to strengthen cultural diplomacy.

Speaking at the meeting of heads of delegation under the theme “Return to Culture – New Opportunities,” Khichi stressed that culture plays a central role in building a peaceful, inclusive and cohesive world. He described Pakistan’s culture and civilization as a rich and diverse tapestry, and argued that renewed focus on cultural ties can open new avenues for cooperation.

Khichi emphasized Pakistan’s long-standing support for dialogue among civilizations, saying the country encourages initiatives that bridge divides through art, heritage and cultural cooperation. He presented cultural exchange as a practical means to foster mutual respect and global harmony.

The forum brought together ministers of culture from 21 countries, providing a platform for participants to share experiences and explore ways to deepen international collaboration in cultural diplomacy. Delegates discussed approaches to preserve heritage, promote arts and strengthen cultural links as tools for dialogue and understanding.

Pakistan’s participation underlined its commitment to using cultural engagement to build connections and promote peaceful relations internationally.
