A divisional Back to School program held at Government Muslim Higher Secondary School No. 1 on Syedpur Road in Rawalpindi brought together education officials, government representatives and community stakeholders to welcome students after the summer break, promote the 2025 enrollment campaign and accelerate efforts to bring out-of-school children back into classrooms. The event combined public awareness, data briefings and immediate enrollment drives, with officials emphasizing Punjab’s education initiatives and pledging continued cooperation to achieve universal education.

The program was attended by senior local and divisional officials, including Additional Commissioner (Revenue) Masood Bukhari and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters) Mohammad Abdullah Khan. Chief Executive Officer Education Rawalpindi Tariq Mahmood and Murree Chief Executive Officer Nuzhat Kulsoom Shehzadi were present, along with district education officers from Chakwal, Attock and Jhelum. Representatives from PMIU Lahore—Program Officer Monitoring and Evaluation Raheel Arshad and Procurement Officer Shehzada Sohail—also participated.

Organizers said the event aimed to welcome students back after the summer holiday, raise public awareness about bringing out-of-school children into the formal education system and boost the Enrollment Campaign 2025. Tariq Mahmood highlighted recent measures by the Punjab government to expand access to education, noting improvements in enrollment across Rawalpindi Division. He credited sustained enrollment drives in all schools under provincial directives and pointed to initiatives such as free textbooks, scholarships and other student supports.

PMIU Lahore’s Raheel Arshad presented district-wise data on out-of-school children within the division and outlined practical steps to identify and enroll those children. His briefing provided guidance for district teams to target outreach and track progress, and supported immediate enrollment actions launched during the event.

Additional Commissioner Masood Bukhari commended the District Education Authority’s efforts and assured attendees of continued administrative support to meet education targets. Education department–mandated school council members attended and reiterated their commitment to grassroots outreach, pledging to work at the neighborhood level to enroll children and to raise parental awareness about the importance of schooling.

Officials emphasized that bringing all stakeholders onto a single platform—education authorities, school councils, government representatives and implementation units—is essential for sustaining enrollment gains. The Back to School program produced both increased awareness and on-the-spot enrollments, and officials described the initiative as a key milestone for the Rawalpindi Division in advancing the provincial vision of education for all.
