The World Health Organization (WHO) Pakistan and the Health Department of Balochistan have brought together health experts to explore priorities and strategies for a comprehensive 10-year health sector transformation plan for the province. Aimed at strengthening Balochistan’s healthcare system, the plan is set to guide improvements from 2026 to 2035.
During the consultation, participants discussed key challenges facing the region’s health sector and identified actionable steps for creating a more resilient, inclusive, and effective system. Focus areas included expanding access to quality healthcare, improving health infrastructure, and ensuring that services reach marginalized populations across Balochistan.
The collaborative initiative underscores the commitment of both local and international organizations to address public health needs and prepare the province for future challenges. By fostering partnerships and strategic planning, the proposed transformation plan aspires to bring about lasting improvements in the health and wellbeing of Balochistan’s residents.
