UNICEF Youth Advocate Zunaira from Balochistan attends the Mobilisation Lab in New York to strengthen advocacy skills at UNGA sidelines.

Zunaira, a 15-year-old youth advocate from Balochistan, is in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly as part of the UNICEF Youth Advocates Mobilisation Lab 2025. She was selected as one of just 12 young people from around the world to take part, representing Pakistani youth voices at a global forum.

The Mobilisation Lab is giving Zunaira the opportunity to strengthen her advocacy skills, share her story and exchange ideas with peers and experts. Participation in the Lab allows a UNICEF Youth Advocate to build practical tools for campaigning on child rights and to learn approaches that can be adapted back home in Balochistan and across Pakistan.

Her presence at the UNGA sidelines underscores the importance of placing young leaders at the centre of decision-making on children’s issues. The selection highlights how a single UNICEF Youth Advocate can amplify local concerns on an international stage and bring new energy and ideas to efforts aimed at better outcomes for every child.
