Bangladeshi students in Pakistan pay tribute to Quaid e Azam and reaffirm Bangladesh Pakistan ties, urging continued friendship and mutual respect.

The Bangladeshi Students’ Association in Pakistan paid respectful tribute to Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on Quaid-e-Azam Day, highlighting his pivotal role in securing freedom, dignity and a national identity for Muslims of the subcontinent. The association said Quaid e Azam’s leadership remains a defining force in the region’s modern history.

Gouhor Muhammad Jawad, president of the association, described Quaid e Azam as both the Father of the Nation and a visionary who led Muslims out of oppression into an independent state. The tribute credited the sacrifices of Quaid e Azam and other leaders such as A.K. Fazlul Haq, Hossain Shaheed Suhrawardy and Liaquat Ali Khan for the creation of Pakistan and for advancing Muslim political rights.

The statement noted that unity between Muslims of eastern and western wings under Quaid e Azam’s leadership enabled resistance to colonial rule and what the association described as Hindu domination at the time. It argued that without the Pakistan Movement many Muslims could have remained politically and socially marginalized.

The association said Quaid e Azam’s leadership spared millions from political and social subjugation and allowed Muslims to live with dignity and freely practise their faith. It recalled that the formation of the Muslim League and the Pakistan Movement provided a distinct national identity and a sense of security in an independent homeland.

Reflecting on present realities, BASAP expressed gratitude for shared history and the sacrifices that connect the peoples of Bangladesh and Pakistan. While recognising that the two countries are geographically separate today, the association emphasised shared roots, values and historical struggles and described Pakistan and Bangladesh as “one nation and two countries,” reaffirming unity of hearts and calling for continued brotherly relations and mutual respect.
