**DIG Bannu Conducts Surprise Inspection of Police Lines Hospital, Announces Major Upgrades for Personnel Welfare**
Deputy Inspector General of Police, Bannu Region, Sajjad Khan, has conducted an unannounced inspection of the Bannu Police Lines to evaluate security measures, staff discipline, and the standard of healthcare services available to police personnel. The visit underscores a renewed focus on the welfare of police staff, with significant upgrades announced to enhance their working environment and wellbeing.
During the surprise inspection, DIG Sajjad Khan closely reviewed security arrangements and monitored the attendance and discipline of the on-duty staff. A primary focus of the visit was the Medical Unit within the Police Lines, where he expressed satisfaction with the medical services being provided. He, however, directed officials to further modernize and improve healthcare facilities to better support the needs of police personnel.
Emphasizing the importance of staff wellbeing, DIG Sajjad Khan highlighted that the welfare of police personnel forms the basis for optimal force performance. He stressed that both the physical and mental health of officers are critical to their effective functioning and the overall success of police operations.
A series of substantial upgrades were announced during the visit. The Police Lines Hospital is set to be upgraded to a Rural Health Center (RHC) in collaboration with the Health Department. Additionally, the facility will soon feature a modern laboratory and a blood bank to better serve the healthcare needs of staff.
Further welfare initiatives include the establishment of a dedicated ward in DHQ Hospital Bannu for police personnel who are injured or require hospitalization. This specialized care unit is expected to provide focused treatment and faster recovery services for law enforcement officials.
DIG Sajjad Khan also instructed all relevant officers to prioritize cleanliness, security, and the continual enhancement of residential and medical amenities. He reiterated the force’s commitment to creating a safer, healthier, and more supportive environment, enabling police personnel to perform their duties more effectively.
