Chaudhry Nadeem Qaiser, central vice president of Pakistan Peoples Party UK and CEO of Bhuttoism International groups, said on the 98th anniversary of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto that the leader instilled the conviction that power springs from the people and that Pakistan’s disadvantaged still view him as their savior. He emphasized that the Bhutto legacy continues to inspire political consciousness among the masses.
Recalling Bhutto’s tenure, he highlighted the achievement of the 1973 consensus constitution, which established a federal framework, a parliamentary system and guarantees for fundamental rights. According to Chaudhry Nadeem Qaiser, these reforms and Bhutto’s political foresight gave ordinary Pakistanis the awareness and courage to defend their rights against oppression.
The event was attended by central secretariat in-charge Syed Sabt ul Hassan Bukhari, PPP Gilgit-Baltistan president Amjad Hussain Azar, Saadia Abbasi, Yaseen Almani, Anwar Khan Jadun, Raja Ashfaq Kiyani, Rabia Gujjar, Maqsood Hussain and other party workers who reaffirmed their commitment to the party’s founding ideals.
He said the Pakistan Peoples Party, under the leadership of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, continues to struggle for the basic rights of the people and remains dedicated to building a democratic, just and pro-people Pakistan in line with the Bhutto legacy. The speaker urged party members to remain united behind their leadership to address issues like poverty, unemployment and governance.
Chaudhry Nadeem Qaiser called for a renewed adoption of Shaheed Bhutto’s political and economic policies as the path to resolve current national challenges. He praised Bhutto’s statesmanship on the international stage, noting his clear stance on Kashmir at the United Nations and other forums as a defining example of principled diplomacy.
Highlighting Bhutto’s emphasis on robust national defence, he recalled how the leader’s vision helped Pakistan confront aggression from a neighbor many times its size. He underlined that custodians of the Bhutto legacy today include Begum Nusrat Bhutto, the late Benazir Bhutto, President Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and affirmed that PPP leaders and workers stand ready to pursue lasting solutions for the country’s political and economic problems.
