The British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, visited Lok Virsa Complex at Shakarparian and participated in a tree plantation, planting a sapling to mark the occasion and underscore bilateral ties.
Speaking informally to the media during the Lok Virsa visit, Marriott commended the institution for its work in promoting and developing Pakistani folk heritage and said such cultural efforts strengthen community resilience.
Addressing climate concerns, the High Commissioner noted that Pakistan remains among the countries most affected by climate change. She reiterated that the UK stands with the Pakistani government and people amid the current flood situation and is providing all possible assistance.
The Parliamentary Secretary for National Heritage and Culture, Farah Naz Akbar, and the Executive Director of Lok Virsa accompanied the High Commissioner during the visit, highlighting cooperation between cultural and diplomatic partners in Islamabad.
