Islamabad and Hafizabad witnessed a strong show of support from the business community as FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh reiterated that constitutional amendments will bring stability and enable sustainable policy making. He stressed that constitutional amendments are essential to provide a predictable environment for investment and trade and to empower chambers for local economic revival.
The remarks came during a ceremony held to honor the newly elected officials of the Hafizabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The event was attended by Patron-in-Chief UBG S.M. Tanveer, FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh, President Zubair Tufail, Secretary General Zafar Bakhtawari and senior business leader Riazuddin Sheikh, along with Vice President Federation Tariq Jadoon, Chairman Capital Office Karim Aziz Malik and business leaders from across the country.
Atif Ikram Sheikh congratulated Malik Suhail on his election as President of the Hafizabad Chamber and extended best wishes to SVP Ammar Masood and Vice President Abdul Jabar Raza. He assured the new leadership of full cooperation in addressing the challenges faced by traders and industrialists and urged that chambers be further empowered to drive local economic activity and boost exports.
The FPCCI President highlighted Hafizabad’s important contribution to the national economy, saying the district is not only known for rice production but also for its industrious and skilled traders. He underlined that Pakistan’s real potential lies in its youth and that creating business opportunities for young people will produce stronger economic outcomes. He also recalled the Federation’s recent advocacy on issues such as IPPs capacity charges, high interest rates and production costs which contributed to the government’s industrial package and successful interventions on contentious Finance Bill clauses and the Sales Tax Ordinance.
Patron-in-Chief UBG S.M. Tanveer welcomed the newly elected chamber leadership and emphasized a united focus on reviving Pakistan’s economy through agriculture development, reducing unemployment, export expansion and local economic growth. He described Malik Suhail as dynamic leadership that can mobilize local business for broader progress.
Newly elected Hafizabad Chamber President Malik Suhail said he felt privileged to take on the role and pledged to work tirelessly for the business community. He stated his goal to make the Hafizabad Chamber one of Punjab’s largest and confirmed that the chamber will leverage support from the Federation and UBG leadership to advance local commerce and strengthen the regional economy.
