The Capital Development Authority (CDA) of Islamabad has increased the number of its employees selected for the Hajj pilgrimage this year, following a transparent balloting process led by Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa. Now, 76 employees will be given the opportunity to perform Hajj, up from 66 last year, a gesture warmly received by the CDA staff.

The balloting ceremony took place at CDA Headquarters, overseen by Chairman Randhawa, who is also the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad. The event was attended by senior CDA officials, including Member Administration and Estate Talat Mahmood, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, Member Planning Dr. Muhammad Khalid Hafiz, Member Environment Esfandiyar Baloch, Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, CDA Workers Union General Secretary Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin, and others. A large number of CDA officers and employees were also present to witness the process.

This year, 9,352 non-gazetted employees ranging from Scale 1 to 17 participated in the draw. Among them, 9,123 were male and 229 were female employees. Ultimately, 77 names were drawn, granting those selected the chance to perform the sacred pilgrimage.

The entire process was conducted with complete transparency, and those present expressed appreciation for the fairness of the draw. Chairman Randhawa extended congratulations to the successful employees and emphasized the honor of being chosen to perform Hajj. He encouraged the selected pilgrims to pray for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan, for the well-being of CDA as an institution, and especially for the martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for the country.

Randhawa highlighted the crucial role of CDA employees and acknowledged their hard work and prayers, which he described as the driving force behind the institution’s ongoing progress. He added that CDA administration continually seeks to support its staff and, responding to the CDA Workers Union’s request, approved the increase in the number of Hajj participants once again this year.

During his remarks, Randhawa advised CDA employees to work diligently, maintain integrity and good intentions, and stay accountable to Allah. He expressed confidence that with dedication and unity, no one would be able to undermine their contribution to the institution or the country.

Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin, General Secretary of the CDA Workers Union, praised the administration for its commitment and compassionate leadership, noting that the Chairman’s direct involvement in the draw fosters trust among the employees. The union reaffirmed its support for the CDA administration in promoting staff welfare and inclusivity.

The event concluded with prayers and expressions of gratitude, focusing on the spiritual significance of the journey and the hope that those selected would represent the institution and the country with honor while performing Hajj.
