The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is set to expand development initiatives and enhance infrastructure services in Islamabad, following a successful strategy to enhance revenue collection and citizen cooperation. These measures were announced during an important review meeting chaired by Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa.

The meeting, held at CDA headquarters, was attended by senior officials including CDA Member Administration and Estate Talat Mahmood, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, Member Environment Esfandyar Baloch, Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, Member Planning Dr. Khalid Hafeez and other top CDA representatives.

Presenting a detailed financial performance review, Member Finance Tahir Naeem informed the participants about CDA’s proactive approach to citizen convenience implemented at the close of fiscal year 2024-25. On Chairman Randhawa’s instructions, the CDA had extended working hours of its “One Window Facilitation Center” from 9 AM to midnight, enabling timely payments by citizens of property charges, development fees, water tariffs, residential and commercial plot installments, transfer fees, and related charges. This strategic move significantly boosted the authority’s revenue collection.

Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa further outlined that the increased revenue will be directly invested into the city’s development, beautification, and infrastructure enhancements. He emphasized that priority areas for expenditure will include upgrading the water supply network, repairing and improving road infrastructure, enhancing drainage systems, and expanding green spaces and parks. Additionally, the CDA aims to timely complete all ongoing development projects using these funds.

During the meeting, key guidelines were set for the upcoming fiscal year 2025-26, underscoring improvements in civic amenities, executing environmentally-friendly projects under the “Green Islamabad” campaign, integrating sustainable public transportation options, accelerating construction work, and enhancing the CDA’s digital service infrastructure. Chairman Randhawa stressed that further improvements would be made to online systems, enabling easier and faster access to civic facilities for Islamabad’s residents.

Chairman Randhawa applauded the cooperation of Islamabad’s citizens and encouraged residents to actively contribute by fulfilling their legal responsibilities promptly. He credited CDA’s success to effective governance measures combined with active participation from citizens. He reiterated the Authority’s unwavering commitment to making Islamabad a modern, sustainable, and vibrant city, promising further positive initiatives in the foreseeable future.
