CDA Islamabad Reviews Development Projects and Progress

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) convened a high-level meeting at its Islamabad headquarters to review the progress of ongoing development projects and overall performance. Chaired by CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa, the meeting brought together board members, relevant Director Generals, and senior officers to discuss measures aimed at accelerating urban development and enhancing citizen facilities in the capital.

During the session, Chairman Randhawa underscored the urgent need to expedite development work across Islamabad, with a particular focus on key sectors and major roadways. He highlighted that all necessary resources are being deployed to improve infrastructure, including road construction, sewage and drainage upgrades, and the modernization of public amenities.

Emphasizing the importance of transparency and quality, the Chairman instructed that all projects must adhere to stringent standards without compromise and be completed within established timelines. He further directed that the monitoring system for development initiatives be strengthened in order to ensure accountability and timely execution.

Addressing specific initiatives, Chairman Randhawa called for rapid operationalization of the CDA’s Parking Plaza in the Blue Area, as well as the renovation of Melody Food Street. He also urged speedy efforts to establish a new food court in the Blue Area. Regular progress reviews were mandated to promptly tackle any challenges and to keep projects on track.

Reaffirming CDA’s commitment to transforming Islamabad into a model city, Chairman Randhawa stressed the importance of prioritizing citizen welfare, infrastructure advancement, and efficient urban planning. All CDA departments and wings were instructed to collaborate closely to effectively achieve the targeted development goals.
