UNICEF Pakistan joined forces with several national organizations to host a Child Online Safety Camp, bringing together young people from diverse backgrounds to learn about digital safety and rights. The event aimed to educate adolescents on how to navigate the internet safely, prevent online abuse, and care for their mental well-being.
The camp was organized in collaboration with the National Commission on the Rights of Child (NCRC) Pakistan, Telenor Pakistan, Meta, the National Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) Pakistan, and the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority. Participants included members of the NCRC Child Advisory Panel, the Pakistan Girl Guides Association, and youth from minority communities.
Through interactive activities such as games, group discussions, peer talks, and expert-led question-and-answer sessions, children learned practical strategies for protecting themselves online. Topics included identifying and reporting harassment, maintaining privacy, and understanding their rights in the digital world.
Organizers emphasized the importance of listening to young voices and empowering them to become advocates for safer online spaces. Many of the adolescents shared innovative ideas and demonstrated a strong commitment to making the internet a safer place for all children.
