A team of probationary officers from the Civil Services Academy conducted a field visit to Population House Punjab to observe frontline public sector operations and learn about provincial population strategies. The visit offered the officers first-hand exposure to administrative coordination and service delivery within the province’s population governance structure.
Capt (R) Aurangzaib Haider Khan, Director General Population Welfare at the Health and Population Department Punjab, briefed the probationers on key population challenges facing the province and the policy measures currently underway. He outlined how evidence based planning and targeted interventions are being used to respond to demographic trends and service needs.
During their time at Population House Punjab the probationers also toured the floors housing the PMU, the DG-PW office, PPIF and PWTI, where they engaged with staff and asked detailed questions about the functioning of each office. The discussions highlighted improvements in service delivery, data driven decision making and the practical aspects of coordinating programmes across departments.
The visit underscored the role of Population House Punjab as a hub for policy implementation and interagency collaboration. For the Civil Services probationers, the interaction provided valuable insights into how provincial planning, monitoring and community oriented services combine to shape Punjab’s response to population challenges.
