Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) recently marked a significant milestone in agricultural research by inaugurating the book “Climate Smart Agriculture for Future Food Security,” authored by Dr. Rai Muhammad Amir and published internationally by Springer, highlighting innovative strategies to tackle climate change impacts on agriculture.
The official inauguration ceremony for the book took place at PMAS-AAUR, where Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qamar uz Zaman and Registrar Mr. Muhammad Aqeel Sultan formally presented the influential publication. The event underscored the importance of addressing climate-related agricultural challenges through informed research and international collaboration.
“Climate Smart Agriculture for Future Food Security” provides a comprehensive examination of contemporary agricultural challenges arising from climate change. Specifically designed for arid and semi-arid environments, the book introduces innovative practices, scientifically-backed solutions, sustainable models, and essential policy recommendations aimed at securing global food supply amidst climate uncertainties. The author, Dr. Rai Muhammad Amir, is a prominent scholar affiliated with the Institute of Food and Nutritional Sciences at PMAS-AAUR.
In his remarks, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qamar uz Zaman praised the commendable efforts of Dr. Amir, emphasizing the critical role indigenous research plays in combating climate-induced agricultural challenges.
