COP30 Stakeholders Conference Advances Climate Resilience

Stakeholders convene in Islamabad to chart inclusive, finance-driven pathways for Climate Resilience ahead of COP30 and strengthen gender-responsive climate finance.

The Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination together with the Center for Climate Diplomacy at COPAIR jointly organized the COP 30 Stakeholders Conference on Climate Diplomacy, Climate Justice, and Climate Finance at COPAIR’s head office in Islamabad, drawing a cross-section of government, development and civil society actors to discuss inclusive, equitable and finance-driven pathways for Climate Resilience in Pakistan.

Distinguished participants included Ms. Nazia Zain, UNFCCC Focal Person for Pakistan; Ms. Humaira Mufti, Secretary of NCSW; Brig. Saleem Khan of SIFC; Mr. Shahjahan Mirza, CEO of PPIB; Dr. Faisal of PIDE; Dr. Noor Fatima of IIUI; Mr. Haris Khan, CEO of the Hashoo Foundation; Dr. Abida Razzaq, Vice President of ZTBL; and Dr Umer Maqsood from FAO, alongside representatives from the Netherlands Embassy, UN Women, UNDP, UNICEF, NDMRF and other key climate advocacy organisations.

The conference focused on translating climate diplomacy into actionable finance solutions and strengthening gender-responsive finance mechanisms that support resilient development across Pakistan. Participants exchanged perspectives on equitable financing models, the role of multilateral and bilateral partners, and the need to align national priorities with global climate commitments ahead of COP30.

By convening senior officials, sector experts and development partners in Islamabad, the platform reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to advancing climate diplomacy and mobilising the finance needed for climate resilience, with a clear emphasis on inclusive approaches and gender considerations as the country prepares for COP30.
