Environmental Impact Assessment Hearing for Courtyard Residences

A public hearing was held in Islamabad to discuss the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Report for the proposed construction of a 45-story residential apartment complex, The Courtyard Residences, in Sector F-11/1. The session brought together community members, including academics, to examine the potential environmental effects of the major development.

Participants highlighted several concerns, focusing on air quality, noise pollution, increased traffic congestion, generation of solid waste, and possible negative impacts on local biodiversity. The academic community, in particular, voiced significant apprehensions about the project’s environmental implications.

The project proponent and their team addressed the queries and objections by outlining a series of mitigation measures. These included plans for managing air and noise pollution, strategies to ease traffic flow, proper waste disposal systems, and steps to minimize harm to the environment. At the conclusion of the hearing, the project proponent assured attendees that all environmental issues would be managed in accordance with public recommendations and best practices.
