The Centre for Peace and Development Initiatives (CPDI) recently organized a consultative session in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, gathering key stakeholders to review and refine manuals regarding Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Participatory Development Planning (PDP). The valuable feedback collected during this interactive session will help inform a comprehensive training manual aimed at guiding Tehsil Local Governments (TLGs) in formulating Medium-Term Development Plans (MTDPs) aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.
Hosted at the Serena Hotel, the consultative session was part of CPDI’s ongoing project titled “Localization of SDGs through Participatory Development Planning (PDP) by Tehsil Local Governments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.” The primary objective of the event was to thoroughly examine and gather stakeholder insights regarding the current PDP and SDG manuals, ensuring they meet local government needs and align effectively with national and global SDG frameworks.
Participants engaged actively in discussions, offering essential suggestions based on practical experiences and local contexts. Their detailed feedback will significantly contribute to enhancing the training content and structure of these manuals. By incorporating stakeholders’ insights, CPDI aims to create a practical and effective resource that will empower local government officials to plan, implement, and monitor SDG-aligned development interventions in their respective communities.
Following this consultative meeting, CPDI will finalize the reviewed manuals and disseminate them across tehsils in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to assist in the preparation and adoption of medium-term developmental strategies. These strategic plans, guided by clearly outlined methodologies and insights from stakeholders, will promote effective, inclusive, and sustainable growth in the region.
