UNODC, under the EU-funded Countering and Preventing Terrorism Project (CPTP) and in collaboration with NACTA, wrapped up a three-day workshop in Islamabad to strengthen the communication skills of 30 partner CSOs working on preventing and countering violent extremism.
Participants explored storytelling techniques, digital advocacy approaches and ethical communication practices with guidance from subject-matter experts. The sessions focused on practical ways to craft messages that resonate with diverse audiences while maintaining credibility and safeguarding community trust.
Throughout the workshop partners practised messaging strategies and digital content creation, and on the final day they co-developed materials intended to promote peace, inclusion and resilience. Emphasis was placed on adapting communication skills to local contexts and on responsible use of digital platforms.
The capacity-building effort reinforces collaboration between civil society, national stakeholders and international partners to strengthen prevention efforts in Pakistan. By enhancing communication skills, CSOs aim to amplify peaceful narratives and contribute to more resilient communities.
