Syed Usman Tahir, honorary advisor to the Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, met Ambassador U Wunna Han of Myanmar in Islamabad on 21 September 2025 to advance Cultural Diplomacy between the two countries.
During the meeting, Tahir presented books published by the Ministry of Heritage that showcase rare paintings, calligraphy masterpieces and other fine arts. He briefed the ambassador on Pakistan’s rich and diverse culture as well as its ancient heritage, highlighting the Gandhara legacy as a potential focus for joint cultural initiatives.
Ambassador U Wunna Han expressed strong interest in expanding cultural cooperation with Pakistan, emphasizing community projects and collaborative cultural programmes. Both sides discussed opportunities to promote exhibitions and workshops as a means to strengthen Cultural Diplomacy and people-to-people ties.
It was agreed that the ambassador will soon hold talks with Federal Minister Aurangzeb Khan Khichi to plan upcoming exhibitions, workshops and international cultural exchanges, with Islamabad positioned as a key venue for renewed heritage and Cultural Diplomacy efforts.
