The Collectorate of Customs Enforcement in Multan carried out targeted anti-smuggling operations during the first half of November 2025 and seized smuggled cigarettes valued at Rs 21.134 million.

The confiscated shipment included 10,701 outer packs, amounting to approximately 2.14 million cigarette sticks of assorted foreign brands. The recovered goods were secured as part of coordinated enforcement activities aimed at disrupting contraband supply chains.

The Federal Board of Revenue highlighted the operation as evidence of continued vigilance in safeguarding national revenue. FBR commended Pakistan Customs teams in Multan for their professionalism and reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing customs laws and protecting public health from illicit tobacco products.

The Multan seizure underlines the persistent challenge of contraband tobacco in local markets and the importance of sustained enforcement efforts to curb illegal trade and protect government resources.
