**NCSW and NCERT Join Forces to Enhance Online Protection for Women and Children in Pakistan**
The National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW), Islamabad, and the National Cyber Emergency Response Team (NCERT – PKCERT) have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening online safety for women and children in Pakistan. The two organizations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that reflects a shared commitment to safeguarding the digital rights and wellbeing of vulnerable groups amid rising technology-facilitated gender-based violence.
Led by Chairperson Ms. Ume-Laila Azhar, NCSW continues to champion the protection and upliftment of girls and women across Pakistan. The organization underlines the urgent need to address the growing challenge of cyber threats and online abuse, particularly as digital platforms become increasingly important in everyday life. The partnership with NCERT is expected to be a pivotal step in promoting a safer and more inclusive online environment.
Key objectives of the MoU include broadening cyber safety awareness among women, children, parents, and educators, as well as the joint development of cybersecurity tools tailored to the needs of women and children. Both NCSW and NCERT plan to organize training programs, conduct research on emerging online threats, and advocate for robust policies to create safer digital spaces.
The collaboration also seeks to empower youth, offering internship and learning opportunities designed to build capacity and encourage meaningful engagement in digital safety initiatives. Through these concerted efforts, both organizations aim to foster stronger legal and technical protections, promote community-wide awareness, and provide effective responses to online threats targeting women and children.
