Danish Alumni Spotlight Inspiring Climate Leadership in Pakistan

Dr. Imran Naqvi, Head of Environmental Sciences at the National College of Business Administration & Economics (NCBA&E) in Lahore, is being celebrated for his contributions to climate action and education. After completing his PhD research in Environmental Sciences and Advanced Biofuels at Aalborg University in Denmark, Dr. Imran returned to Pakistan, where he now plays a pivotal role in nurturing the next generation of environmental leaders.

Dr. Imran’s time in Denmark, although brief, had a significant and lasting influence on his academic and professional journey. Drawing on his experiences abroad, he has integrated Danish green initiatives and sustainable solutions into the curriculum at NCBA&E, fostering international collaboration and innovation in climate education.

In recognition of these efforts, Denmark’s Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Peter Emil Nielsen, visited NCBA&E to meet Dr. Imran and learn about his work. During the visit, Mr. Nielsen engaged with students on the importance of building climate resilience and awarded degrees to seven new graduates in Environmental Studies, highlighting the growing importance of environmental education in Pakistan.

Dr. Imran’s career serves as an inspiring example of how academic exchanges between Denmark and Pakistan can create enduring ties and drive progress toward a more sustainable future.
