Pakistani athlete Danish Elahi has been honored by the Secretary of Inter-Provincial Coordination, Mr. Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, after making history at the Boston Marathon. Elahi completed the race in traditional shalwar kameez, setting a Guinness World Record for the fastest marathon run in national attire with a finish time of 3 hours and 26 minutes.
Recognizing this outstanding achievement, Secretary IPC Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani presented Elahi with a souvenir and commended him for positively representing Pakistan on an international stage. The Secretary emphasized the importance of such accomplishments in boosting the country’s image globally.
Danish Elahi, in turn, reaffirmed his commitment to promoting emerging sports within Pakistan. He highlighted his support for newly constructed Padel Tennis Courts at Islamabad College for Girls, an initiative designed to encourage youth participation and broaden sporting opportunities in the country.
