Defence Day Observed at Govt Associate College Rawalpindi

Government Associate College for Women in F-Block Rawalpindi held a solemn ceremony to mark Defence Day, honoring the courage and sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces and the nation during the 1965 war. The event combined religious observances, patriotic performances, and educational programming to reinforce national unity and the duty of citizens to support the country’s defence.

The program opened with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a Naat in honor of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Students performed national songs that expressed their devotion to the homeland and solidarity with the armed forces.

A documentary film outlining the heroism and sacrifices of the Pakistan Army during the 1965 conflict was screened for attendees, providing historical context and highlighting acts of bravery.

College Principal Ghazala Yasmeen addressed the gathering, stressing that Defence Day is a reminder of the armed forces’ unparalleled sacrifices and a call to renew the pledge to contribute to the nation’s defence and progress. She urged students to maintain a strong spirit of patriotism while pursuing their academic goals.

The ceremony concluded with students visibly inspired by a renewed sense of national unity and love for Pakistan, reaffirming the college community’s commitment to the country’s ideals.
