**Rawalpindi Authorities Intensify Dengue Prevention Efforts in Dhoke Munshi and Chak Jalal Din**
Health authorities in Rawalpindi have ramped up dengue prevention measures in the Union Councils of Dhoke Munshi and Chak Jalal Din, areas considered particularly vulnerable to the spread of dengue fever. Officials are focusing their efforts through coordinated surveillance and public awareness campaigns to control and prevent the transmission of the virus.
Integrated indoor and outdoor dengue surveillance activities are currently underway in both union councils. A total of 113 indoor teams—58 in Dhoke Munshi and 55 in Chak Jalal Din—have been deployed to inspect households for the presence of dengue larvae. In addition, 63 outdoor sanitary patrols—38 in Dhoke Munshi and 25 in Chak Jalal Din—are actively monitoring public spaces. These teams are tasked with detecting and promptly eliminating any breeding sites discovered during their inspections.
During their operations, inspectors found dengue larvae in several homes, prompting immediate containment and elimination measures. Targeted insecticide residual spraying (IRS) was carried out in those residences to effectively curb the potential growth of the virus vector.
Alongside field inspections, health officials have launched comprehensive awareness campaigns in outdoor areas. Educational banners have been displayed in public locations, and informational pamphlets have been distributed to local residents, advising them on essential precautions to prevent dengue.
The health department has appealed to the public to maintain cleanliness in their homes and surroundings, ensure that stagnant water does not accumulate, and cooperate fully with dengue control teams. Authorities stressed that only through community involvement and vigilance can the threat of dengue be eradicated from these high-risk areas.
