The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister chaired a high-level inter-ministerial committee meeting to review government efficiency, with particular focus on the operations of Pakistan Missions abroad. The committee presented its findings, triggering a wide-ranging discussion on strengthening diplomatic performance and clearer alignment with national goals.
The DPM/FM underscored the need to strengthen Pakistan’s diplomatic footprint and to ensure that Mission outputs are fully aligned with national strategic objectives. He highlighted the importance of elevating institutional performance abroad through enhanced synergy and coordination among all relevant ministries and departments to deliver coherent foreign policy outcomes.
Present at the meeting were the Minister of Petroleum, the Minister of State for Railways, the Chair of the National Assembly Foreign Affairs Committee, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch and the secretaries of the Cabinet, Establishment Division, Commerce, Interior, Human Resource and Development and the Economic Affairs Division, along with senior officials from Finance, Information and other concerned departments.
Participants agreed on the need to translate the committee’s findings into measurable improvements at Pakistan Missions, with a strong emphasis on cross-departmental coordination so that Pakistan Missions effectively support the country’s strategic priorities and deliver tangible results abroad.
