Dr. Syeda Rashida Batool, District Health Officer Islamabad, attended the National Orientation and Validation Workshop on Pakistan’s Multisectoral Surge Capacity Building Package, taking part in efforts to strengthen multisectoral coordination and surge preparedness for public health emergencies.
The workshop provided a platform to validate tools and align strategies aimed at improving Surge Capacity across districts and provinces. Participants discussed practical steps to enhance coordination between health services and other sectors so that responses to outbreaks and emergencies can be faster and more effective.
Dr. Batool highlighted Islamabad’s commitment to reinforcing local readiness and fostering collaboration with national bodies, including the NHSRC, to implement standardized Surge Capacity measures. The orientation and validation process is intended to ensure that the package can be operationalised at district level to support rapid, coordinated action during public health crises.
