Health Services Academy (HSA) Islamabad and Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) have formed a strategic alliance to drive digital innovation in Pakistan’s healthcare system. The collaboration aims to improve the quality, efficiency, and accessibility of health services across the country by combining the strengths of both institutions in public health, technology, and management.
Through a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding, HSA and LUMS will jointly develop education and research programs, digital solutions, and training initiatives focused on digital health. This partnership targets pressing public health challenges by introducing modern technological tools, strengthening health informatics training, and promoting evidence-based decision-making to enhance patient outcomes.
HSA Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shahzad Ali Khan underscored the critical role of digital health in the future of medicine, especially in environments where resources are limited. He noted that this collaboration presents an opportunity to unite academic excellence with practical solutions, aiming to bridge existing gaps in healthcare delivery. The two institutions plan to design digital systems that empower medical professionals and advance data-driven approaches throughout health services.
With HSA’s expertise in medical education and LUMS’s capabilities in technology and innovation, the partnership is poised to lead Pakistan’s healthcare sector towards rapid digital transformation. Their joint initiatives will include developing digital platforms for patient care, conducting research in health informatics, enhancing the skills of healthcare workers, and facilitating interdisciplinary academic exchanges. The ultimate goal is to provide smarter, faster, and more equitable healthcare solutions throughout Pakistan.
