Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain urged Pakistan to accelerate its digital industrial transformation, praising Octave Technology Solutions for convening international and local experts at the International Summit on Redefining Digital Manufacturing and outlining government efforts to support Industry 4.0 adoption, high-tech hubs, and youth entrepreneurship.
Speaking as chief guest and keynote speaker at the summit, Rana Tanveer Hussain said manufacturing remains a cornerstone of national economies but can no longer rely on production capacity alone to stay competitive. He called on manufacturers to embrace digital technologies, automation and advanced engineering solutions to keep pace with global innovation, citing tools such as 3D scanning, reverse engineering, additive manufacturing and precision metrology as technologies reshaping industries worldwide.
The minister highlighted the federal government’s focus on industrial modernization and digital transformation as central to its economic strategy. He noted the establishment of the Pakistan Digital Authority under the Digital Nation Pakistan Act as a major step toward coordinating national digital efforts, framing a National Digital Masterplan, enforcing governance standards and enabling wider Industry 4.0 uptake. He also pointed to initiatives led by the Special Technology Zones Authority to develop high-tech clusters such as Islamabad Technopolis, aimed at promoting research, digital manufacturing and international partnerships.
Rana Tanveer Hussain described the Engineering Development Board’s ongoing work to upgrade the industrial sector, with particular attention to automotive, machinery and engineering value chains. He also referenced the National Aerospace Science & Technology Park, recently inaugurated to position Pakistan as a hub for aerospace, cyber and other frontier technologies. The minister said the broader Digital Pakistan Initiative is expanding connectivity, fostering innovation and creating opportunities for entrepreneurs and young people.
The minister praised Octave Technology Solutions as a homegrown pioneer in digital manufacturing. He credited the firm with helping to fill gaps in Pakistan’s industrial innovation ecosystem by providing advanced services in 3D scanning, reverse engineering and digital prototyping, and said such indigenous enterprises exemplify how local technology providers can drive national transformation.
Concluding his remarks, Rana Tanveer Hussain expressed confidence that the summit would catalyze long-term partnerships, practical strategies and a collective commitment to accelerate Pakistan’s digital industrialization. He emphasized that the exchange of knowledge and expertise at events like this is essential to prepare the country for a future where technology, creativity and competitiveness determine national strength.
