DNC chairs meeting with Mercy Corps on TB Diagnostics tool validations to strengthen Pakistan's national response and collaborative efforts.

On 16 October 2025 Dr. Muhammad Ayyaz Mustafa, Deputy National Coordinator, chaired a meeting with key stakeholders from Mercy Corps to review TB diagnostic and screening tool validations aimed at strengthening collaborative efforts under the national response framework.

Participants exchanged views on the technical validation process for TB Diagnostics, including approaches to ensure data quality, operational feasibility and alignment with national protocols. The discussion emphasized the need for standardized validation criteria to support consistent screening and diagnostic performance across different settings.

The meeting examined how validated tools can be integrated into ongoing screening initiatives and how joint capacity building can accelerate accurate case detection. Stakeholders highlighted the potential for validated TB Diagnostics to enhance early identification and linkage to care within Pakistan’s public health system.

Moving forward, the DNC and Mercy Corps agreed on continued collaboration to finalize validation plans, coordinate pilot testing and report findings into the national response framework. The session reinforced a shared commitment to strengthen Pakistan’s TB screening and diagnostic capabilities through evidence-based validation and coordinated implementation.
