Dr Saba Riaz of Rawalpindi Women University presented at RSS 2025 in Edinburgh, showcasing machine learning research on early Alzheimer's prediction.

Dr Saba Riaz, Head of the Department of Statistics at Rawalpindi Women University, represented the university at the Royal Statistical Society International Conference 2025 in Edinburgh from September 1 to 4. Her participation at RSS 2025 underscored RWU’s active role in global statistical discourse.

The conference convened leading statisticians, researchers and data scientists for keynote presentations, technical sessions and discussions on emerging challenges in statistics and machine learning. RSS 2025 provided a forum to exchange methods and practical insights on high-dimensional and multimodal data analysis.

At the event Dr Saba Riaz presented her study Machine Learning for Early Alzheimer’s Disease Prediction on High-dimensional Multimodal Data, highlighting RWU’s contribution to health-focused data science. The research showcased advanced machine learning approaches aimed at improving early detection and addressing important societal health challenges.

Her representation at RSS 2025 raised the profile of Pakistani academic research on the international stage and offered opportunities for RWU to pursue collaborations with global researchers working on Alzheimer’s prediction and related data science initiatives.
