Dr Samreen Anjum successfully defended her PhD English Linguistics thesis at The Islamia University of Bahawalpur on 10 Nov 2025.

Dr Samreen Anjum successfully defended her PhD English Linguistics thesis on 10 November 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Audio/Video Room of Khawja Ghulam Fareed Auditorium on the Baghdad-ul-Jadeed campus of The Islamia University of Bahawalpur. The university-level seminar concluded with a comprehensive examination of her research.

Her doctoral work was completed under the supervision of Dr Zahoor Hussain, Associate Professor in the Department of English Linguistics at The Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Dr Zahoor Hussain also served as one of the internal examiners during the defense alongside Dr Riaz Hussain, Chairman of the Department of English Linguistics.

Prof Dr Saiqa Imtiaz Asif, Professor of English at Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan and former Vice Chancellor of Government Sadiq College Women University Bahawalpur, attended the session as the external examiner, providing independent academic review in line with university protocols.

The successful defense marks completion of Dr Samreen Anjum’s PhD English Linguistics program and contributes to the scholarly activity of the Department of English Linguistics at The Islamia University of Bahawalpur. The event underscored the institution’s ongoing commitment to advanced linguistic research and academic rigor in the region.
