Dr Shoab Ahmed Khan has been unanimously elected chairman of the Pakistan IT Industry Association (P@SHA) for the 2026-28 term, following the association’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) elections.
P@SHA announced the results of its CEC elections and described the election as a landmark development, with Dr Khan securing complete unanimity for the chairmanship.
Dr Khan, a seasoned academic and prominent voice in Pakistan’s technology sector, brings technical expertise and strategic vision to the role. His unanimous election reflects confidence in his ability to lead the association and the wider industry during a period of growth and digital transformation in Pakistan.
Accepting the role, Dr Shoab Ahmed Khan said he was “deeply honoured” by the trust placed in him by the entire P@SHA membership.
“This is a pivotal moment for Pakistan’s IT sector. Working together with the newly elected CEC, my immediate priority is to collaborate closely with the government on forward-thinking policies, accelerate skill development to meet global demands, and position Pakistan as a leading destination for IT innovation and investment. We must create an environment where local startups can thrive and our established firms can scale global heights,” he said.
The newly elected P@SHA Central Executive Committee for 2026-28 comprises a diverse and inclusive group of IT and technology industry leaders.
Former P@SHA chairman Muhammad Zohaib Khan and CEC member Dr Faisal Kamiran withdrew their nominations in favour of Dr Shoab Ahmed Khan, paving the way for his unanimous election.
P@SHA also announced the election of Wahab Yunus as senior vice chairman and Samad Saleem as vice chairman for the 2026-28 tenure.
The association expressed gratitude to the outgoing leadership and reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for the entire IT and ITeS community.
According to P@SHA, the collective experience of the new leadership across various technology sub-sectors is expected to provide continuity as well as fresh impetus to the association’s initiatives.
The Pakistan IT Industry Association, established in 1993, is the apex body representing Pakistan’s IT and ITeS sector. It works for the betterment of the IT industry and promotes growth, policy advocacy and the development of the country’s technology ecosystem.
