DRF Highlights Digital Security Helpline National Dialogue

Anam Baloch showcased the Digital Security Helpline and Hamarainternet at Islamabad's National Dialogue on Women Peace and Security, highlighting user support.

Programmes Lead Anam Baloch participated in the first-ever National Dialogue on Women, Peace and Security in Islamabad, hosted by NACTA and UN Women in collaboration with the National Commission on the Status of Women. She contributed to a panel on youth driving digital innovation and climate peace, underlining the role of young people in shaping safer online spaces across Pakistan.

In her remarks Baloch highlighted the Digital Security Helpline established by the Digital Rights Foundation and explained how the service supports people experiencing online harassment, privacy breaches and other digital threats. She noted that accessible, user-focused assistance is critical as digital engagement grows among women and youth.

Baloch also described the Hamarainternet project as a complementary initiative that promotes digital literacy and safer internet practices. During the discussion she tied climate resilience and innovation to inclusive digital policies, emphasising practical measures that organisations and stakeholders can take to protect vulnerable users.

The Digital Rights Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to building safer digital spaces for women and young people and to working with government agencies and civil society to expand services like the Digital Security Helpline across the country.
