**NIDM and Pakistan Boy Scouts Association Partner to Promote Disaster Risk Reduction**
The National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Pakistan Boy Scouts Association (PBSA) through the signing of a Letter of Agreement, aiming to enhance disaster risk reduction (DRR) awareness and resilience among Pakistani youth.
Under the agreement, both organizations will introduce a dedicated Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Badge for Boy Scouts. The badge will be awarded upon the completion of specialized training conducted by NIDM, alongside participation in selected hands-on activities focused on practical disaster mitigation and prevention.
In addition to the DRR Badge initiative, NIDM and PBSA have pledged to develop a long-term collaborative framework. This partnership will focus on mobilizing and training volunteers to actively engage in community-based disaster risk reduction and mitigation initiatives across the country.
Officials from both organizations expressed optimism that this joint effort will not only equip young scouts with essential life-saving skills but will also foster a culture of preparedness and proactive response within communities nationwide.
