Drug-Free Schools Initiative in ICT with PEIRA and ANF

The Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA) has partnered with the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) North Region to intensify efforts against drug use in private schools across Islamabad. The collaboration aims to create safer, drug-free learning environments for students within the Islamabad Capital Territory.

A meeting between PEIRA officials and Lt Col Raheel Hussain, Deputy Regional Directorate Commander of ANF North, focused on strategies to prevent drug abuse in educational institutions. The discussion highlighted the importance of awareness campaigns and proactive preventive measures to address the issue at its roots.

Dr. Sayeda Zia Batool, Chairperson of PEIRA, reaffirmed the authority’s dedication to protecting students through strategic partnerships, education initiatives, and building institutional capacity. This joint approach is designed to equip schools with the tools and knowledge needed to combat the threat of drugs and ensure the safety and well-being of young people in Islamabad’s private educational sector.
