Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) officially unveiled its new E-File System at a campus ceremony, marking a major step toward a smart campus. The system was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman, who served as chief guest at the event and welcomed the digital initiative as part of the university’s modernization agenda.
Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman said the E-File System reflects the institution’s long-term vision for digital transformation and institutional reform. He observed that adopting a paperless approach through the E-File System will boost efficiency, strengthen transparency, and improve inclusivity while supporting environmental goals by reducing paper consumption.
The Vice Chancellor stressed that the E-File System is a strategic move to accelerate decision-making, improve service delivery for faculty, staff and students, and align PMAS-AAUR with international best practices in university governance. He described the platform as more than a technological upgrade, calling it a tool to reinforce institutional accountability and operational speed.
Director IT Services Dr. Nadeem A. Malik highlighted the Directorate’s ongoing efforts to convert the university into a smart campus through modern digital solutions. He noted that the E-File System will streamline workflows, improve employee performance, save time and manpower, and deliver tangible cost savings while minimizing paperwork and enhancing transparency across administrative processes.
By introducing the E-File System, PMAS-AAUR aims to set a local example for technology-driven administration in Pakistan’s higher education sector, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable practices and improved institutional efficiency through digital governance.
