ECOSF led an STI for Climate session at the 2nd International Conference, highlighting solutions for disaster risk, green design, e-mobility and climate education.

The Eco-system for Science Foundation (ECOSF) convened a dedicated session on leveraging STI for Climate during the sidelines of the 2nd International Conference on Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction. Ten distinguished speakers from China, Türkiye, Iran and Pakistan shared perspectives on how science, technology and innovation can strengthen sustainable development and climate resilience.

Speakers explored the role of STI for Climate in mitigating disaster risk through improved early warning systems and resilient infrastructure, while also discussing green design principles that reduce environmental impact. Electric mobility emerged as a practical pathway to lower urban emissions and modernize transport, with participants outlining technological and policy approaches relevant to South Asian cities.

Education and capacity building were highlighted as essential to long-term resilience, as experts emphasized integrating climate education into curricula and professional training to empower communities and decision makers. The session underscored cross-border collaboration and technology transfer as key to scaling solutions that are adaptable to Pakistan’s climate and disaster preparedness needs.

ECOSF expressed gratitude for the collaboration and support of partners CPJRC and UNESCO, noting that such partnerships help translate technical discussions into actionable programs. The dialogues from the session aim to inform future initiatives and encourage adoption of STI-driven solutions for sustainable development across the region.
